What Gynaecological conditions can pelvic health physiotherapy help with?
I can asses and treat a wide range of gynaecological conditions including bladder and bowel dysfunction, urinary and faecal urgency, frequency and incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain and conditions such as endometriosis and gynaecological cancers and surgeries.
Can Physiotherapy help with painful sex?
Yes. Pelvic health physiotherapy can address muscle tension, scar tissue, sensitivity, fear and pain surrounding pain experienced with penetration.
Is treatment appropriate after gynaecological surgery?
Yes. I help many women recover safely and heal from surgeries including Abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, repair surgeries for prolapse and incontinence, laparoscopies, abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia repairs.
How can pelvic floor physiotherapy help with my prolapse?
Online searches for the management of pelvic organ prolapse can often be confusing, conflicting and an area of great stress for many women. I aim to educate, fully assess, reassure and with expert guidance help you to effectively manage and understand your prolapse so you can return to all you love to do free from fear and anxiety. Treatments may include pelvic floor exercises, breath work, use of pessaries and global strength exercises.
Do you fit pessaries?
Yes. I fit the ring and cube pessary for those climates who are already under my care and keen to try as an option to manage symptoms.
Can pelvic physiotherapy help with my bladder leaking?
Yes. Pelvic Health physio can successfully assess and treat both urinary stress and urge bladder incontinence . A pelvic floor examination is usually suggested to determine technique, strength, function and tone ahead of creating an individualised treatment plan.
Will physiotherapy help my constipation?
Yes. Using various abdominal techniques to help with gut transit and mobility, alongside ideal breathing, toilet positioning and education, constipation can be very well managed and addressed with pelvic health physiotherapy.
